You may have always thought that your Uniball ship is drawn accurately, but it's not!
The borders of each ship is a perfect circle (and also a very good approximation of a octagon).
Over a year and a half I secretly designed custom ships that I have chosen to call Bubbles, named
for the circle/octagon bubble surrounding the ship. The bubble shell is actually LARGER than the
original ship graphics, which explains why people often attribute a ball 'misgrab' to good
gravity - they just can't see what actually happened! But now you can - the bubble patches
included here are pixel perfect for physical contact with other ships, and there are a range of different ships to choose from.
It goes without saying, that seeing what used to be "hidden" during gameplay, results in
a huge improvement in gameplay, including better bouncing, juking, blocking, and passing.
The learning curve is also dramatically reduced, which is benefical to new and old players.
The bubble does overlap onto the top of players' names, but I tried to make it as
unintrusive as possible, hence the simple white octagon. I hope you enjoy them!
You will note that there are ships with both a circle and an octagon design.
The difference
between these ships is that the octagon (obviously) has straight lines and these are sometimes
easier to see visually when you're trying to block someone or move about the map. The difference in actual ship
collision borders are minimal, as shown in the comparison picture below.
