The Uniball Olympics
The Uniball Olympics is a new type of league, which attempts to offer some fresh diversity, while bringing back some of oldschool Uniball's team rivalry. Uniball's top players will be drafted and traded throughout an intense 4 week competition, where players will have to show that they are the best overall by competing on a new map each week.
NEW DESIGN, NEW IDEAS, NEW STATS
The UBO code was built upon the Uniball Fantasy League code, and although the two leagues share similar aspects, most of the UBO's structure has been redesigned to overcome old problems and add new competitive dimensions to the league, while also being repackaged in a fresh, user friendly interface, and bundled with a ton of new stats and webpages.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
At the start of the season players can apply to be General Managers (GMs), and if selected, these players will manage their teams by drafting players, assigning team salaries, and strategically stealing other team's players to build a strong team that can compete on each week's map, as well as both Uniball servers.
SCORE SYSTEM
Teams will be ranked by chess score for daily games and at the end of each week, the teams with the 4 highest scores will be given points on the Points Board based on their final standing. Each week the number of points awarded will increase to ensure that every team still has a shot at winning as the season progresses. Teams that consistently perform throughout each week will succeed the most, and at the end of the 4 weeks, the season's winner will be the team with the highest total points. This is to avoid traditional logistics problems related to holding a championship.
WHAT'S NEW
The trading mechanism has been modified to result in more intense trading at the start of the season in order to balance the best teams, however, in-season trading is limited to only week's 2 and 3 so that teams have a chance to build chemistry. Additionally, GMs must manage their teams strategically to design a team that can play well on both NA and UK servers, as teams will be required to play 1 game on each server every day or face a 1 game loss penalty for a server unplayed.
Have fun and enjoy the league! Remember though, it's a team game. Players that consistently belittle their teammates or cause trouble will be removed from the league.
